Dr. Gerald G. Glass
Dr. Glass was the director of Adelphi’s Reading/Learning Center for over 40 years. His work with students of all ages who have had difficulty in reading earned him and the University high academic acclaim. He was named Teacher of the Year by his colleagues in the NY State Reading Association. Dr. Glass earned a Master’s in Education from Hofstra University and a PhD in Reading and Psychology from Syracuse University.
Dr. Esther W. Glass
Dr. Glass was an elementary school teacher, a remedial reading teacher and a reading coordinator in several school districts before becoming a Professor of Reading & Children’s Literature at LIU Southampton Campus. She spent decades working along with her husband in teaching the Glass-Analysis approach to decoding and continues to offer workshops for teachers and supervisors. Dr. Glass holds a Master’s in Supervision and Administration from Hofstra University, studied Children’s Literature at Columbia University and earned an EdD in Reading from Hofstra University.
